SAQQARA PYRAMIDS:

Saqqara is the oldest Ancient Egyptian cemetery. lt lies on a desert plateau, south‐west of

Cairo. Above rises the Step‐Pyramid and mortuary compound, built by the engineer lmhotep for King Zoser. It is composed of six receding mastabas on top of each other.

GIZA PYRAMIDS AND SPHINX

The great pyramids are the only ones surviving of the seven wonders of the ancient world. They are Egypt’s most visited monuments and among the world’s greatest tourist attractions.

Giza’s Great Pyramid (also called the Pyramid of Cheops) is not only this ancient site’s most famous monument .It was built by the Pharaoh Khufu (commonly called by its Greek transliteration of Cheops) and was known to the ancient Egyptians as Ekhet Khufu (“Horizon of Khufu”).

Sphinx is carved from a single piece of stone. It is a lion with the head  of a pharaoh thought to be the portrait of Chephren

MEMPHIS

Memphis was one of the oldest and most important cities in ancient Egypt, located at the entrance to the Nile River Valley near the Giza plateau. It served as the capital of ancient Egypt and an important religious cult center

CITADEL OF SALADIN & MOHAMED ALY MOSQUE

The citadel was constructed by Salah El Din on the Moqattam hills in 1183 AD overlooking the whole city to be his defensive point against the attacks of the Crusaders.

The Mosque was designed by the architect Yousif Boushnaq, a Turkish man who came especially from Istanbul and built this Greg at mosque for Mohamed Ali, the ruler of Egypt (1805‐1849) who  ruled Over 45 years .During his reign, considerable changes in various aspects  of the political, social and economic life occurred. This period is now known as the beginning of the Egyptian renaissance.

KHAN El KHALILI

Khan El‐Khalili bazaar is a major market in the Islamic district in Cairo. The bazaar district is one of Cairo’s main attractions for tourists and Egyptians alike.
